North Port, Florida, November 20, 2024 – King Plastic Corporation, a leading manufacturer of high-quality polymer sheets, slabs and massive shapes, is excited to partner with the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation to bring holiday cheer to local families in need. From now through December 13th, King Plastic’s North Port facility at 1100 N. Toledo Blade Blvd. will serve as an official Toy Drop-Off Site, inviting local residents to donate new, unwrapped toys for children in need this holiday season.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Toys for Tots to help bring joy to children and families who need it most,” said Jeff King, President of King Plastic Corporation. “This holiday season, we hope to spread cheer and make a positive impact on our community. We invite everyone in the North Port area to join us by donating a toy.”
The Toys for Tots campaign will focus on collecting new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages, with a special emphasis on those ages 6-14, who are often the most in need.
Suggested donation items include:
- Wireless headphones
- Fishing poles
- LEGO sets
- Nerf toys
- STEM kits (robotics with batteries included)
- Craft kits
- Squishmallows
- Outdoor sports equipment (badminton, pickleball sets, etc.)
- Harry Potter-themed items
- Makeup and nail polish kits for girls 10 years and older
- Plush blanket throws (particularly in demand due to recent hurricanes)
The Toys for Tots drive will run through December 15th. King Plastic encourages everyone in the North Port area to drop off their toy donations at the King Plastic facility during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, by Friday, December 13th. All toys collected will be distributed by the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program, ensuring that every child in need receives a gift this holiday season.
“In 2023, the campaign proudly served 800 local families in North Port and 4,000 children, which included several nonprofit agencies distributing over 14,000 toys in our community. This year, we anticipate an even greater impact. We are deeply grateful for the generosity of our community, which makes this possible. Our dedicated local volunteers invest countless hours, driven by their passion, to bring joy to children during the holiday season,” said Ann Jordan, Sarasota County Volunteer for Toys for Tots.
