Wayfinding signs are used to help people navigate to their destination. Whether it’s parking lots, at a hospital, an office building, or a shopping mall, clear and effective wayfinding signage makes a difference in ensuring people can find their way around quickly and easily.

King ColorCore® is a popular HDPE material used for wayfinding signs because of its durability and versatility. Here are four examples of wayfinding signs made with King ColorCore® that can be used in different settings.

  1. IDENTIFICATION SIGNS

Identification signs are the most common type of wayfinding signage. The signs should be easy to interpret and confirm a person reached their destination. For instance, a specific area such as an evacuation assembly point, office, breakroom, or men’s or women’s restrooms.

2. Directional Signs

Directional Signs direct a person or vehicular traffic to a specific location and help public spaces flow easily. For instance, the wayfinding sign will lead a person to an entrance of a mountain bike trail, or direct them to an office or restrooms, or a specific location.

3. Informational Signs

Informational signs are clear and noticeable. It informs or gives people useful instructions. Some examples of these signs include a traffic sign, hazard sign, or safety information.

4. Regulatory  Signs

Regulatory signs enforce traffic laws, regulations, or requirements. Some common signs are stop, handicap parking, and speed limit signs.
