King Plastic Corporation began in 1968 as a small, family enterprise. We are a leading manufacturer of quality polymer sheets, slabs and massive shapes—including several products pioneered by the company. Its polymers are sold worldwide through a network of distributors to customers who fabricate products for the marine industry, signage, food service, healthcare, architectural, industrial and other markets. The company headquarters is a 250,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in North Port, Florida. The King family still maintains independent ownership and control. The same values that made the company so successful in the past still prevail today.

Role Description:

The purchasing specialist is responsible for day to day ordering and process flow of raw materials for production, working on site within the company’s supply chain team. The purchasing specialist will work closely with existing vendors, ensuring pricing is up to date & helping to maintain business relationships. The purchasing specialist monitors vendor performance, conducting evaluations and providing audits. Critical thinking and analysis will be applied to ensure optimal pricing is received, and report on cost savings metrics.

Essential Job Duties Include:

· Place purchase orders for raw materials based on production demand

· Update process flow and track all inbound materials from order to delivery

· Coordinate recurring pickups and deliveries of raw materials and services

· Effectively communicate with suppliers & maintain partner relationships

· Ensure all pre-shipment documents and received and filed prior to delivery

· Complete annual supplier performance assessments

· Collaborate with onboarding new vendors as required

· Record and maintain cost saving metrics and reports

· Oversee color match program

Requirements:

· Minimum 1 year purchasing or procurement experience

· Experience with ERP systems preferred

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

· Excellent communication skills

· Autonomous and self-driven

· Ability to work both independently & in team environment

· Ability to multitask & stay organized

  • Purchasing: 1 year (Preferred)

 

Ability to Relocate:

  • North Port, FL 34288: Relocate before starting work (Required)
